reImagining is a community engagement process designed to help shape a new future for the former Highland Golf Course site. More than 1,270 residents have participated in the engagement process to date, providing 739 ideas in five key areas (housing, traffic, commercial development, stormwater management and open space).

The development plan for Highland Village Green was accepted and circulated by The City of Calgary in December 2014. It underwent review and revisions before The Calgary Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the development plans on May 5, 2016. Additional revisions were made from July to December 2016, including capping the development at 2,070 units, reducing building heights along McKnight Boulevard NW, centralizing open space, removing the Highland Green roadway, and increasing overall open space by more than 12 per cent, to 29.4 per cent of the site.

The next step in the process is a public hearing with Calgary City Council on January 16, 2017.

A series of Frequently Asked Questions about the project are available for review.

Thanks to all the residents of Highland Park and area who have offered their input into the design concepts and planning considerations for the site.
